Oaklawn Well Represented in the Iowa Festival of Racing

Oaklawn will be well represented in the Iowa Festival of Racing, which begins with four stakes races Friday at Prairie Meadows, including the $200,000 Iowa Oaks (G3) for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles. The 10-race card also features the $100,000 Iowa Sprint at 6 furlongs, $250,000 Iowa Derby for 3-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles and the $300,000 Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap (G3) at 1 1/8 miles.

Oaklawn Stakes Winner Mia Mischief Wins Roxelana Stakes at Churchill

Perennial Oaklawn training champion Steve Asmussen has the country’s top-ranked older dirt female (Midnight Bisou) and male sprinter (Mitole) – both stakes winners in Hot Springs. Asmussen may also train the country’s top female sprinter in another Oaklawn stakes winner, Mia Mischief, who recorded her fourth career stakes victory in the $120,000 Roxelana Saturday at Churchill Downs.
