Position Title: Line Cook

Status: Part Time –Hours vary

Description Summary: Prepare menu items according to established recipes, assuring quality and appearance standards.

Primary Duties: Open and close assigned kitchen areas and perform other cleaning duties as directed by supervisor and Executive Chef.  Serve as ambassador for Oaklawn Jockey Club, maintaining the highest standard in guest service, courtesy and safety

Skills and Requirements:

  • Prior Cooking/Grill  Experience
  • Superior guest service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Professional, well groomed appearance
  • Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ARC and  EGS licensing
  • Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Some experience in a kitchen environment

Education Requirements: Great to have but not required: Serv-Safe Certification
