Trainer Ron Moquett said he’s already outlining future plans for his two runners who competed in stakes last weekend at Keeneland. Gentlemen’s Bet finished fifth in Friday’s $250,000 Phoenix (G3), a major prep for the $1.5 million Breeders’ Cup Sprint Oct. 31 at Keeneland, while Heykittykittykitty finished second in Saturday’s $250,000 Thoroughbred Club of America (G2) for filly and mare sprinters.

Carve’s pursuit of $1 million in career earnings will resume at the 2016 Oaklawn meeting, owner Mike Langford said. Langford said Carve, less than $50,000 shy of reaching seven figures in earnings, won’t run again this year and, instead, point for the $100,000 Fifth Season Stakes Jan. 16 at Oaklawn. Carve opened 2015 with a powerful victory in the Fifth Season, but has lost his last five starts.

Four Oaklawn stakes winners are entered in Friday’s $250,000 Phoenix Stakes (G3) at Keeneland. The 6-furlong Phoenix, which has drawn a loaded field of 12, is a “Win and You’re In” event for the $1.5 million Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) Oct. 31 at Keeneland. Probable post time is 3:57 p.m. (Central).

Trainer Tom Howard said Ivan Fallunovalot emerged in good order from his 2 ½-length victory in Sunday’s $150,000 Remington Park Sprint Cup and will make his next start in the $1.5 million Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) Oct. 31 at Keeneland. Under Hall of Fame jockey Calvin Borel, Ivan Fallunovalot covered 6 furlongs over a fast track in 1:08.42 to earn a preliminary Beyer Speed Figure of 101.
