LONGTIME OAKLAWN TRACK ANNOUNCER TERRY WALLACE PASSES

Terry Wallace, Oaklawn Park’s track announcer for 37 years, has died following a lengthy illness. Wallace, known as “The Voice of Oaklawn” for decades, began calling races at the Hot Springs track in 1975 and called a record 20,191 consecutive races before ending his streak Jan. 28, 2011. He stepped down as announcer following the 2011 season, but remained a popular ambassador for the track until his retirement in 2017.

OAKLAWN NAMES NEW WINNER’S CIRCLE IN HONOR OF LARRY SNYDER

Hot Springs, Ark. (Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018) – It’s going to be a season of firsts at Oaklawn in 2019 and among the new additions set to debut when the track opens Jan. 25 is the Larry Snyder Winner’s Circle. For the first time in its 115-year history, winners of all overnight races will return to a dedicated winner’s circle named in honor of the longtime jockey and steward.

DAVID LONGINOTTI NAMED DIRECTOR OF OAKLAWN ANYWHERE

Hot Springs, Ark. (Monday, June 4, 2018) – David Longinotti, a member of Oaklawn’s management team since 2006, will move into the position of Director of Oaklawn Anywhere after serving as Director of Racing. Oaklawn Anywhere, the track’s in-state advanced deposit wagering service developed in partnership with Arkansas horsemen, is the fastest growing segment of Oaklawn’s racing business and has generated nearly $4 million for purses since its launch in 2014.
