OAKLAWN CANCELS THURSDAY’S RACES

Oaklawn management has cancelled Thursday’s nine-race card due to frigid temperatures. Central Arkansas has been experiencing near record lows since Monday night and for the safety of the horses and horsemen, the decision to cancel racing was made.

Stevens is named on 15 horses over the first three days of the meet; Friday’s opening race of the meeting is scheduled to feature Pray Hard, a 7-year-old Kafwain gelding trained by Southern California-based Doug O’Neill, who has a string at Oaklawn for the first time this year. He is one of several horses on the grounds that survived the devastating fires at San Luis Rey Training Center.
