SPA BLAST, KENNY LOGGINS CONCERT HEAT UP OAKLAWN IN JULY

Hot Springs, Ark. (Tuesday, July 20, 2017) – The 26th annual Spa Blast, presented by Budweiser, kicks off July at Oaklawn with a bang. This free, family-friendly event will be held in Oaklawn’s Infield July 3 with gates opening at 5 p.m. Other highlights during the month include HulaPalooza July 2 and a Kenny Loggins concert July 28.

Oaklawn’s Spa Blast presented by Budweiser features live music by local and national performers, a petting zoo, gigantic Kids Zone featuring a rock wall and misting tent. Immediately following the music at approximately 9:30 p.m., guests will be treated to one of the region’s most exciting fireworks displays. Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome, but no coolers will be allowed.

Guests can start July off in winning fashion at HulaPalooza where one lucky player will win $150 in Free Play every 10 minutes. Drawings will take place from 1 – 4 p.m., 5 – 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. to midnight. If no one claims their prize, that money will be added to the final drawing at the end of each session. HulaPalooza will also feature a $4.99 summer buffet and a $2 draft beer special.

The Finish Line Theater Concert Series continues with Kenny Loggins, whose remarkable four-decade-plus career has brought him from the top of the charts to the toast of the Grammys. He’s had smash hits on Hollywood’s favorite soundtracks, rocked worldwide stages, and found his way into audiences’ hearts while bringing his smooth, beautiful voice to platinum albums of a stunning variety of genres. Among his biggest hits include “Celebrate Me Home,” “I’m All Right,” “Footloose,” and “Danger Zone.” Loggins, who will be at Oaklawn July 28, has also been onstage with his side project - Blue Sky Riders, which features Nashville powerhouse Gary Burr and gifted vocalist and singer/songwriter Georgia Middleman. Tickets to the show will be $55 and $65 and go on sale July 11.

Horse players will have their final chance to compete for cash prizes and a free entry into the Oaklawn Handicapping Championship Final Saturday, July 15. The entry fee is $50 and includes a program and buffet lunch. Players will be given $600 in imaginary money to place 15 Win-Place wagers from five designated tracks. The person with the highest bankroll at the end of the day wins. The finals will be held August 12 & 13 with the top two finishers earning a free trip to Las Vegas to complete in the Horse Players World Series next March.

Every Friday during the month there will be up to $2,500 in Free Play up for grabs during Fishin’ for Riches. Guests just need to earn points on their Oaklawn Rewards cards to receive up to three scratch-off cards for Free Play. Saturdays in July will feature the Lemonade Stand-Off. Winners will be called every 15 minutes between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a share of $5,000.

Forever Young for guests 55 and up continues on Mondays all day. Guests can enjoy a $5 Silks menu, half-off Bloody Marys, five times the points and more.

Also, patrons who earn 20 points on Mondays and Tuesdays can enjoy a 99-cent Chinese buffet every Tuesday from 5–10 p.m. Oaklawn’s $1.99 Steak Night is every Thursday from 5–10 p.m. Come out and enjoy Hot Springs' finest steaks, hand-cut from USDA Choice Beef.
