Hot Springs, Ark. (Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016) – Champion Racing Stable Inc.’s Haveyougoneaway tightened her claim as the fastest older female at Oaklawn when she came flying past even-money favorite Thirteen Arrows for her second straight stakes victory in Saturday’s $100,000 Spring Fever Stakes.

The winner was happy to sit back in sixth-place early as the two Fair Grounds shippers, Thirteen Arrows and Warriorscmoutoplay, went head-to-head through an opening quarter mile in :22. The favorite took over after a half-mile in :45 4/5, but proved no match for Haveyougoneaway, who came four wide into the stretch and won going away. The 5-year-old Congrats mare completed the 5 ½ furlongs in 1:04 1/5 over a fast track and was 2 ¾ lengths in front at the wire.

“I was hoping for a lot of speed,” said Loveberry. “That’s what it looked like in the program, so I sat just behind it. In the turn, I had to decide if I wanted to go to the rail our not, so I just kept her wide. She was running, so I just let her keep going. She’s getting a lot more confident in herself. Before, she was trying to make her move too early. Now, she’s just really confident with herself and she’s gotten a lot better.”

Thoughtless, who was on her toes in the paddock, weaved her way through traffic to get third at 16-1 odds. She was followed by Simply Confection, Super Saks, Warriorscmoutoplay, Be Proud, High Dollar Woman and Chanteline. Dancing Diva and Pleasant Tales scratched.

Haveyougoneaway, who won the $100,000 American Beauty Stakes Jan. 23, has now won four of her last five starts and overall has a record of 8-2-6 in 21 starts with earnings of $372,425. As the 5-2 second choice, she returned $7.80, $3.40 and $3.

Live racing resumes at Oaklawn Sunday with a 1:30 p.m. first post.
