Hot Springs, Ark. (Thursday, May 21, 2015) – The King of Thoroughbred racing, American Pharoah, and the Queen of country music, Wynonna, will both be celebrated in June during an exciting month at Oaklawn. June 6 has been declared “American Pharoah Day” in honor of the Arkansas Derby, Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner and Oaklawn has planned a day full of fun leading up to his attempt at history in the Belmont Stakes. Later in the month, Wynonna will hit the Finish Line Theater stage Friday, June 26.

Oaklawn will be “the” place to watch and wager on the full simulcast of the Belmont Stakes Saturday, June 6 where American Pharoah will attempt to become only the 12th horse in history to win the Triple Crown. The day will feature live music and beer garden on the apron, cash giveaways and a commemorative American Pharoah trading card and souvenir poster giveaway while supplies last. Gates will open at 9:30 a.m. for both racing and gaming. Reservations can be made in the Post Parade or Carousel restaurants by calling (501) 623-4411 ext. 340.

The popular Finish Line Theater series continues June 26 with country music sensation Wynonna and The Big Noise. A five-time Grammy winner and New York Times bestselling author, Wynonna has been thrilling country music fans for years. As one-half of legendary duo The Judds with her mother Naomi Judd, they rose to superstardom in the early '80s on the strength of chart toppers like “Mama's He's Crazy,” “Why Not Me” and “Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days).” The Judds were unstoppable for the rest of the decade picking up multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM Awards and selling more than 20 million albums along the way. Since Naomi had to stop performing in 1991, Wynonna has gone onto a wildly successful solo career. Tickets go on sale June 15 and will be $40 and $55.

Summer temperatures are here and Oaklawn has the perfect way to stay cool Sunday, June 28 at the “Beat the Heat” party from 4 – 10 p.m. Guests are invited to come enjoy a $4.99 dinner special, drink specials and $5,000 giveaway.
Players will have all summer to qualify for the $500,000 TournEvent in August during the Summer of Champions Reel Tournaments. There will be $1,500 qualifying rounds every Sunday at 2 p.m. and every Tuesday at 6 p.m. Players can only qualify for the Final once, but can keep playing each week for prize money.
