Hot Springs, Ark. (Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015) – Oaklawn will host one of the biggest non-racing events in its history as well as one of its richest promotions during the month of September. The two-day Hot Springs Blues & BBQ Festival, presented by Budweiser, will bring together national Blues acts and the region’s best BBQ Sept. 19 and 20 in the Infield. And, kicking off the month will be the $250,000 Secret Agent Showdown Sept. 6.

Headlining the Hot Springs Blues & BBQ Festival, presented by Budweiser and hosted jointly by Oaklawn and the Spa City Blues Society, are Shemekia Copeland and Los Lonely Boys Sept. 19 and Keb’ Mo’ Sept. 20. The musical entertainment starts at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20 for the weekend, including both headline acts, if purchased by Sept. 6. They will be $30 if purchased after Sept. 6. Tickets are currently available online at http://hsbluesbbq.com/. There will be an additional charge to sample the BBQ.
Guests have been earning entries into the $250,000 Secret Agent Showdown since late June and can keep earning them right up to Sunday, Sept. 6. There will be three separate sessions and cash prize winners will be called every 10 minutes during each session. At the end of each session at 3, 7 and 11 p.m. four names will be called and these guests will have an opportunity to play for the $250,000 Grand Prize.
Oaklawn will be the headquarters for everything football starting this season. Guests can watch all their favorite college teams Saturdays with ESPN Game Plan and professional teams with NFL Sunday Ticket while enjoying $2 drafts from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. anywhere in the game room all weekend long.
