The Temptations Review Kicks Off Series May 15

HOT SPRINGS, AR (Tuesday, April 7, 2015) – Oaklawn’s Finish Line Theater Series will celebrate its seventh season with some of the most iconic names in the music business including The Temptations featuring Dennis Edwards, which launches the series Friday, May 15, and KC and The Sunshine Band, Friday, July 24. The series will also include one of country music’s leading ladies, Wynonna and her band The Big Noise, and the “Happy Together” Tour, which features some of the most popular names from the 60s and 70s. Ticket prices for each concert will vary.

“It’s exciting to be able to bring bigger and better names to Hot Springs every year for this concert series,” said Director of Marketing Kim Baron. “This year, we certainly have something for every music fan from the legendary R&B sounds of The Temptations to country chart topper Wynonna.”

The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards: The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards knows how to generate wonderful “memories” as they continue to entertain audiences around the globe. With the presence of Dennis Edwards, one of the last surviving members of the legendary group, The Temptations enjoyed some of their most remarkable achievements. Beginning with a long string of # 1 Hit recordings, such as: “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone”, “Can’t Get Next to You,” and many, many, more. Utilizing his unique style and smooth delivery, Dennis Edwards is known as one of the most influential singers in the history of Pop music. In 1989, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Wynonna & The Big Noise: A five-time Grammy winner and New York Times bestselling author, Wynonna has been thrilling country music fans for years. As one half of legendary duo The Judds with her mother Naomi Judd, they rose superstardom in the early '80s on the strength of chart toppers like “Mama's He's Crazy,” “Why Not Me” and “Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days).” The Judds were unstoppable for the rest of the decade picking up multiple Grammy, CMA and ACM Awards and selling more than 20 million albums along the way. Since Naomi had to stop performing in 1991, Wynonna has gone onto a wildly successful solo career.

KC and The Sunshine Band: Founded in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida, KC and the Sunshine Band have been thrilling fans for generations with their style that has included funk, R&B, and disco. Their most well known songs include the disco hits “That's the Way (I Like It),” “(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty,” “I'm Your Boogie Man,” “Keep It Comin' Love,” “Get Down Tonight,” “Boogie Shoes,” “Give It Up,” and “Please Don't Go.”

“Happy Together” Tour: The “Happy Together” Tour brings together six of the most popular rock bands of the 60s and 70s: The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, The Association, Mark Lindsay, former lead singer of Paul Revere & the Raiders, The Grass Roots, The Buckinghams and The Cowsills.
