Oaklawn fans will get a preview of who might be the top Arkansas-bred 3-year-olds next year based on the outcome of the Lady Razorback Futurity and Razorback Futurity Saturday at Louisiana Downs. Last year, Ile St. Molly, the dominate Rainbow Miss winner, who was most recently second in the Grade 2 Delaware Oaks, won the Lady Razorback.

Oaklawn regular Karl Broberg will send out Little Miss Flurry, the 2-1 favorite in the Lady Razorback. The Awesome Again filly, bred by Jon Starr, earned her top billing with an impressive 2 ½ length victory in only other start Sept. 5 for Flurry Racing Stables.

The runner-up to Little Miss Flurry, Ivy Jo, was made the 7-2 second choice in the field of nine. She races for trainer Al Cates and owner James Williamson Jr. The Hesabull filly was bred by Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Branum and Linda Branum.

In the Razorback Futurity, Stanley Roberts has the 5-2 favorite Devilishly Clever, who is seeking his first career victory after two previous starts. He enters Saturday’s race off a narrow second against open company Aug. 23 on the turf. The Tactical Cat colt races for Jack Henry, who bred him with Christine Henry.

Trainer Blaine Williams holds a strong hand with the uncoupled entry of Ol’ Bob and The Arkansan. Rio Mio Ranch’s Ol’ Bob, a Hesabull gelding, was made the 7-2 second choice off his eye-catching workouts in preparation for his career debut in the Futurity. Brenda Corley and Bruce Walker’s The Arkansan, a Romeo’s Pistol gelding, enters the race off a fifth in his first start.

The Lady Razorback Futurity is race 6 at 3:33 p.m. and the Razorback Futurity is race 8 at 4:31 p.m.
