Music Lineup Set for Smokelawn May 4

Hot Springs, Ark. (Friday, April 26, 2013) – The music lineup for the Smokelawn BBQ Championship Saturday, May 4, has been set and will feature some of the region’s most popular Blues bands performing in Oaklawn’s infield Kentucky Derby Day.  The acts scheduled for this event, which features professional and amateur BBQ cook teams competing for $10,000 in prize money, are John Calvin Brewer Band, Trey and Dave, Moonshine Mafia and Salt and Pepper.

The Infield will open at 10 a.m. and admission is free. Guests can bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a great day of BBQ sampling, live music and the complete simulcast of the Kentucky Derby Day card from Churchill Downs on the big screen TV. Smokelawn will also include a beer garden, antique motorcycle show and Kids Zone with petting zoo and inflatable rides.

“We’re excited to have such a talented lineup for Smokelawn,” said Director of Marketing Kim Baron. “We have 50 BBQ teams confirmed for the event, the long range weather forecast looks perfect and we couldn’t be more pleased with our lineup of bands. It really is going to be a fun way to spend Kentucky Derby Day.”
