  • Saddled Kathballu to win Oaklawn’s $125,000 Spring Fever Stakes in 2017. Other meet winners included Senior Investment, who captured an allowance/optional claimer before winning the Lexington Stakes (G3) and finishing third in the Preakness Stakes (G1).
  • His biggest success in 2016 came with Daddys Lil Darling, who won the Gr. 2 Pocahontas Stakes at Churchill Downs and finished fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). Other graded stakes winners were Rated R Superstar and Wonderment.
  • In 2013, he won the G1 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland with Java’s War and on the same day, Frac Daddy finished second in the Arkansas Derby (G1).
  • McPeek’s first “big” horse was multiple stakes winner and 1995 Kentucky Derby runner- up Tejano Run. Since then his extensive list of horses includes 2002 Belmont Stakes winner Sarava, Hard Buck, Repent, Harlan’s Holiday, Rogue Romance, Dream Empress, Noble’s Promise, Kathmanblu, Bizzy Caroline and Salty Strike.
  • After graduating from college with a B.A. in Business, he went to New York to interview for a position as a stockbroker, but he instead took a job as a hotwalker for trainer Shug McGaughey. Took out his trainer’s license in 1985.
