  • Landeros enjoyed top ten status during his first meet at Oaklawn in 2015 and repeated that feat in ’16, winning 23 races, including the $100,000 Pippin Stakes with Streamline.
  • Among his best mounts in 2016 was Alsvid, who he rode to victory in the $100,000 Aristides Stakes (G3) and $67,000 Kelly Landing Stakes at Churchill Downs. Was also aboard Alsvid when he won the 2015 Count Fleet Sprint Handicap (G3), his richest career win.
  • Started riding at age 17 at Turf Paradise and won his first race aboard Spring of Pearls Jan. 18, 2006. Earned his first stakes win aboard the same horse the following year.
  • After a stint on the Northern California circuit, made the move to Lone Star Park where he was leading rider in 2009 and ’10.
  • Won his 1,000th race Sept. 7, 2013, at Louisiana Downs when he rode Major Marvel to win the Unbridled Stakes.
  • Joined the tough Kentucky circuit during the spring of 2014 after wintering in New Orleans.
  • Comes from a racing family.  His father, Manuel Landeros was a trainer in California and his grandparents owned racehorses.
  • Married Shelby Wilkes, daughter of trainer Ian Wilkes, in 2016.
